Thoracic and endocrine surgery

Conditions affecting the thoracic cage are covered by the Clinique's thoracic surgery service. Treatments for cancer are handled by a multidisciplinary collaboration by a range of on-site specialists.

A multidisciplinary approach to thoracic and endocrine pathologies

The thoracic surgery service at the Clinique des Grangettes treats pathologies affecting the thoracic wall, the lungs, the mediastinum and the oesophagus. Lung cancer is the most frequently treated treated illness.

The patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team made up of oncological surgeons, radio-oncologists and anaesthetists specialised in thoracic surgery. They make decisions as a team, thus determining the best possible course of treatment for the patient. The operation performed usually consists of the removal of part or all of a pulmonary lobe.

Mediastinal tumours, teratomes, thymomes and neurogenous tumours, which are rarer, are likewise treated using thoracic surgery.

The team also handles benign or malignant oesophageal pathologies.

Endocrine surgery is frequently performed as well (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands).
